2nd Annual Darty Smith Memorial
The Smith Family is proud to announce the 2nd Annual Darty Smith Memorial race being held February . The event will be held at The Thunder Valley Speedway in Glenmora,La and will honor the memory of Darty Smith, a beloved member of the racing community who was taken from us too soon.
The event will be a three day event. Participants will have the opportunity to practice on Thursday at 4pm, followed by Time Trials on at 9pm. Admission is $15 per person, and there will be a Quick Time Cash Bonus and Time Provisional available. This is the only night for hot laps.
On Friday, the pit opens at 3pm with Adults just $35 and $20 for kids. General admission will open at 5pm with Adult pricing at $12, Seniors/Military $10, and Kids $5. The racing format will be two heat races in each class on passing points, locking in the top 6 into Saturday's A Main race.
After all heats, there will be a PIT PARTY with a Live Band "Parish Line" and a Chili Cook off! Pit admission after 10pm is $20 and BYOB. All pit pass holders can stay for the PIT PARTY at no additional charge. Everyone is encouraged to enter the chili cook off. You will cook at your pit and turn in your entry to our judges at the line up board 1 hour after heat races end. An announcement will be made. The winner of the Cook Off will get a cash bonus, an award, and a complimentary pit pass for two for Saturday. The runner up will get a cash bonus and a complimentary pit pass for Saturday.
On Saturday, the pit opens at 2pm, with admission at $40 for adults and $20 for kids. General admission at 4pm is $15 for adults, $12 for seniors/military, and $5 for kids. All feature races will be held on Saturday.
In addition to the event, we are hosting a raffle with amazing prizes. Tickets will be available at the event for $1 each or 6 for $5.
General admission parking is complimentary, located directly in front of our facility.
